April 4, 2024 (Entebbe, Uganda): The Nile Youth Development Actions (NYDA) extends its warm congratulations to one of its key pillars, Mr. Kak Ruot, an Expert on peace, security, and immigration. Mr. Ruot has been recently appointed to the East African Community (EAC) Youth, Peace, and Security Platform representing the Republic of South Sudan.
The EAC Youth, Peace, and Security Platform is envisioned as a dynamic space for young people from diverse backgrounds to express their views, engage in peacebuilding discussions, and contribute to conflict prevention and resolution. The platform aims to operate within the existing structures of youth engagement in the EAC integration process and will focus on themes such as conflict prevention and early warning, protection, transitional justice and reconciliation, human rights, research, and partnership.
The East African Community (EAC) is an intergovernmental organization composed of eight countries in East and Central Africa. The member states are the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Federal Republic of Somalia, the republics of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, and Tanzania.
