NYDA
Who We Are
The Nile Youth Development Actions (NYDA) is a grassroots civil society organization committed to promoting peace, empowering young people, and strengthening regional cooperation within the Nile Basin. Since we kicked off our journey in January 2017, we’ve passionately championed peacebuilding, human rights, climate action, inclusive education, gender equality, and good governance throughout South Sudan. Our goal is to expand our reach across the Nile Basin, connecting with countries like Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, and the DRC. NYDA is legally registered with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission under the NGOs Act, 2016, Chapter 3, Article 10, with the registration number 3311.

We Support Four Core Services
-
Entrepreneurship that includes growth capital and nurturing young starts-up through incubation and skills development trainings.
-
Education that revolves at accessing funded scholarships, alternative academic trends, youth-led research, mentorships, and models for teacher’s development.
-
Employment focuses on internships and apprenticeships, jobs centers and enhancing digital skills.
-
Inclusive engagement which is fragmented into leadership programs, Inter-Generational Dialogues (IGDs), developing a peace culture, exchange programmes, forums and youth engaging platforms.
Our Philosophy
At NYDA, we believe that youth development is a profession – in the ethos, as a career pathway, conduct, and ethics.
- The ethos – the intent, spirit, passions, or rationale for working or contributing to the profession.
- Career Pathways – the formation, training, certifications, continuous development, and different forms in which we can specialize and practice youth development as decent work.
- Conduct – the systems, processes, and guidelines governing how you operate which ensures you earn the designation of professional.
- Ethics – (moral, legal, trade guides).
