Mr. Ruot George, a former refugee and Internally Displaced Person (IDP), is a seasoned freelance journalist, human rights activist, and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in broadcasting and translation. He authored the first online collection of South Sudanese folktales. Currently the interim Secretary-General of the South Sudan Young Peace Builders’ Forum and a member of the transition working group, Ruot is a proud alumnus of Young African Leaders Initiative (2018), African Union Youth 4 Transitional Justice, and various regional and Pan-African Youth initiatives. He is the current Programs Manager of the Nile Youth Development Action (NYDA) and he previously worked with Union of Journalists in South Sudan (UJOSS), Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Danish Refugee Council, Internews, and Bentiu Radio.
