January 8, 2022 (Sharm el Shiekh, Egypt) The Nile Youth Development Actions (NYDA) is represented by its Executive Director John Youhanes Magok who participated in the World Youth Forum preparatory workshop under the theme “Towards Rational Water Polices for Humanity”.
The discussion focused on the opportunities and challenges confronted by the upstream, corridor, and downstream countries in utilizing the water resources to boost social-economic development and the role of international organizations in water issues.
In his intervention, Mr. Magok indicated that young people need to be part of the decision-making on water conflict resolutions that their entire future is dependent on. Water security is determinate to humanity’s future because it influences the economy, peace, farming, disease spread, and even education; and if mismanaged it can create violent conflicts.
The fourth edition of the World Youth Forum is taking place in Sharm el Shiekh city from 10th to 13th January 2022.
Different workshops are organized from 8th to 9th January to formulate recommendations leading up to the World Youth Forum days.
