December 12, 2020 (Juba, South Sudan): The Nile Youth Development Actions (NYDA) organized a two days training for 15 IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) who participated under the umbrella of IDPs Youth Forum. The training encompasses elements on strategies for personal growth and development, and community organizing for positive action. The training module further included the role of youth-led Civil Societies in peace-building, peace-making, peace-keeping, and inclusive reconciliations, and Importance of peace disseminations and campaigns among communities. The training was viewed by many IDPs youth as an eye opener that keeps oneself optimistic for a better South Sudan that accommodates everyone in harmony.
Further, the Nile Youth Development Actions (NYDA) further took the lead in the outreach program to trained and informed the IDPs Youth in Juba about the ongoing Public Consultations on the Ratification of the African Youth Charter, from the angel of inclusivity, the trainers distributed the copies of the Charter to all participants.
Article (2) of the African Youth Charter stipulates “every young person shall be entitled to the enjoyments of the rights and freedoms recognized and guaranteed in the charter irrespective of their race, ethnic group, color, sex, language, national and social origin, fortune, birth or another status. NYDA sees its reification as a fundamental step in enhancing youth participation through policy implementation in South Sudan.
